Microsemi Awarded Circuit Design Patent

Microsemi Corp. said Thursday that its Linfinity division has received a second patent covering design aspects of circuits used in lighting the liquid crystal displays found in myriad computer and mobile telecommunications products.

The Santa Ana supplier of power management and devices said the patent covers a method for reducing the number of components needed to power the cold cathode fluorescent lamps used in computer monitors and laptop computers.
