Net Cookies

Share

* In all the cookie hysteria articles I have read, including Robert Scheer’s June 27 commentary, I have never seen anyone mention the fact that “cookies” are stored in “Temporary Internet Files” and are easily deleted by going into “Files & Folders.” In Windows 95, they were known as “Cache” files. Once they are deleted, they are gone and are not permanently stored on the hard drive. I have this in writing from my Internet server.

However, easier than that, one can go into the Internet server, usually the security section, options, and select to block cookies all together. Internet software, of course, is originally set to default on “always accept cookies.” On AOL I can also select “prompt before accepting cookies” or “disable all cookie use.”

Big Brother may be watching, but it is pretty easy to close the curtain.
