Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Leave

More than 350,000 illegal immigrants have left Saudi Arabia during the past month, taking advantage of a government offer to depart without punishment, a Saudi official said. More than 160,000 of those who left were unemployed, said top passport official Lt. Gen. Abdulaziz Sajini. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims, mostly from the Indian subcontinent, remain illegally in Saudi Arabia trying to find jobs after the end of the pilgrimage.
