Drug Sentences
In “Ballot Measures--the Few but the Mighty Emotional” (July 3) you note that “the powerful prison guards’ union already has promised to spend heavily” to defeat the initiative that shifts nonviolent drug users to treatment from the current imprisonment policy.
Do we really want prison guards dictating the best way to treat drug users? I think not!
