Biomerica Names New Diagnostics Chief
Francis E. Capitanio is the new president of the diagnostics division of Biomerica Inc. in Newport Beach. Capitanio most recently was president and chief executive of Kalisto Biologicals Inc. in Brighton, Mass., a company he founded in 1997. He has also been president and chief executive of Diatech Diagnostics, formerly Immunotech Corp., and director of manufacturing at the Clinical Assays division of Baxter International.
* Reza Marivani has joined DWD2 Success Distribution Inc. in Anaheim as national sales manager. He previously held senior management and sales management positions with new-car dealerships in Southern California.
* Brooks Corbin has been named chief financial officer of SiteLite in Rancho Santa Margarita. Corbin was previously chief financial officer for Newport Beach-based Catalyst Capital LLC. Prior to that, he was chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance and administration for Micro General Corp.
* Bernhard Wagener is the new vice president of business solutions for Foreshock Inc. in Irvine. Paul Blank has been appointed vice president of professional services, and Lou Lupo has been named vice president of operations. Before joining Foreshock, Wagener spent 10 years with Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young. Blank was most recently with Ernst & Young as practice leader within the Information Technology Group. Lupo formerly worked for B/E Aerospace Inc. as vice president of sales and marketing. Before that, he spent 18 years with Honeywell, formerly Allied Signal Inc., in various executive leadership capacities.
* W. Gary McGuire has been installed as president of the Chamber of Commerce of Yorba Linda for 2000-01. He is provost of the North Orange County Community College District’s School of Continuing Education.
* Gary Rogers has been appointed senior vice president, pharmaceutical research for Cortex Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Irvine. He was formerly vice president, pharmaceutical discovery, a position he held since joining Cortex in 1995.
