ORANGE COUNTY NEWSMAKERS

* John E. Martin, chairman of Diedrich Coffee Inc. and former chairman and chief executive of Taco Bell, has joined the board of directors of FSbuy.com in Anaheim.

* Joseph S. Tavarez Jr. has been named senior vice president of the national subdivision of First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana. He previously served as senior vice president of builder services and major accounts for the Fidelity title insurance company. Tavarez has also been senior vice president of WMC Mortgage Co. and president of Spring Mountain Escrow Co. in Newport Beach.

* Joanna Skrdlant has joined SRS Labs Inc. in Santa Ana as director of marketing. Skrdlant was formerly director of marketing at VTechSoft, the North American software publishing arm of VTech Holdings. Before that, she was vice president of marketing at Graphix Zone, an interactive music and entertainment software publisher.

* Charles Ware has been appointed director of governmental relations for the land management company of Rancho Mission Viejo LLC. He previously was manager of community affairs for Lennar Communities Inc. Ware has also been director of community relations for Santa Margarita Co. and was with the Mission Viejo Co., where he was involved in creating and coordinating community programs.
