Hughes Electronics Taps Doctor to Be VP of Human Resources

* Hughes Electronics Corp. in El Segundo has promoted Pamela Hymel to vice president of human resources. Hymel, a physician, is a member of the board of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

* WooJin Kim has resigned as chief executive of Long Beach-based B2BStores.com. No reason was given for his departure. Mark Voorhis, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, will serve as chief executive on an interim basis.

* Health Net, a division of Woodland Hills-based health plan Foundation Health Systems Inc., has named a number of new executives. David Anderson has been promoted to senior vice president and chief sales officer, from vice president of sales; Tom Fleishman, a former Kaiser Permanente executive, has been named vice president and chief information officer; Rob Beltch, a former Aetna US HealthCare regional executive, has been named assistant chief financial officer.

* Culver City-based CarsDirect.com, an online automotive provider, has promoted Mark Miller to senior vice president of dealer and industry relations.

* ServiceMagic.com, an online site that links consumers to home service professionals, has tapped Michael Aprahamian as regional sales manager for the Los Angeles area. He is a former sales manager for CarsDirect.com.

* Sonicport.com Inc. of Santa Monica has named Richard Shapiro chief financial officer, senior vice president, treasurer and secretary. He replaces Bill Jackson, who resigned. Sonicport.com is an Internet marketing company.
