Pioneer Day in Garden Grove Celebrates Mormon Migration

The Garden Grove Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host a Pioneer Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Stanford meeting house. The event commemorates the westward migration of the Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah in the 19th century. There will be food, games, a parade and more. A signing of the United Religions Initiative will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 29 at Shepherd of the Hills (United Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ).
