* Update--The Sparks have won as many games as they did last season with nine games left. The first two Spark-Monarch meetings were in Sacramento. The Monarchs won in the season’s fifth game, 75-68, but Los Angeles won, 76-61, on July 5. The Sparks are looking to clinch the season series with the Monarchs, having already done so against Utah, Minnesota, Portland, Phoenix, New York, Washington and Houston. Spark center Lisa Leslie has made 40 consecutive free throws. The league record is 62 by Eva Nemcova of Cleveland.
