The City Council has authorized the director of public works to begin the bidding process for median improvements on Walker Street and Orangethorpe Avenue.
The project includes building center dividers on Walker south of Orangethorpe and on Orangethorpe Avenue at Sommerset Circle.
The Walker median will allow drivers traveling northbound to make left turns into a senior housing complex now under construction.
