PICO RIVERA — Sheriff’s investigators said Monday that they still have no suspects in the brutal stabbing attack that left a father and three children dead and the mother severely wounded.
The killer attacked early Friday while the family slept in their modest Pico Rivera home. Slain were Richard Flores, 42, and his children Richard, 17; Sylvia, 13, and Matthew, 10. Flores’ 39-year-old wife, Sylvia, remained hospitalized Monday. Three other daughters in the home escaped injury.
The wounded woman has described the attacker as a cleanshaven Latino man in his 20s. Detectives said she remains under sedation and has not provided a detailed account of the attack.
A bloodied knife was found outside the home after the rampage, but detectives have declined to comment on whether they were able to retrieve fingerprints from it.
More than 1,200 mourners attended a memorial service Sunday for the four who died.
