Other retailers are also cheering the prospect of Disney’s continuing expansion.

The Block at Orange shopping and entertainment center pulls shoppers from Disneyland and expects to attract more when California Adventure opens in February, said Richard Eichenbaum, the center’s general manager. A third park would be just that much better, he said.

“We’re very excited to hear about . . . the third park,” he said, “no matter how long it will take.”

Disney has said a third complex could include an amusement park that would borrow popular rides from Disney sites in Florida, Tokyo and Paris. Although the proposal is still tentative, Disney said it could also include a water park, stores and hotel rooms. It would be situated on a 78-acre site just south of Disneyland on Harbor Boulevard.

And for anyone who may be wondering, Disney says there would be no room for a fourth park.
