Hines Horticulture Inc.

The Irvine operator of commercial nurseries reported that second quarter net income increased 19% to $23.1 million, or $1.05 a share, from $19.3 million, or 88 cents a share, for the second quarter of 1999. Sales grew 43% to $183.2 million.
