Hints on How to Keep Jewish Teens Active in Their Faith

Stephanie Schneider will address the challenges of keeping Jewish youth active in their faith when she speaks on the topic “After the B’nai Mitzvah: Judaism and Teens” during a Shabbat Service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot of Irvine. Schneider, a professor of religious studies and social sciences at UC Irvine, is the author of “Raising a Spiritual Child: A Jewish Perspective.” She has spent years researching the factors of faith, and how these guiding principles can be used to nurture a young person’s spiritual growth. First Presbyterian Church of Orange will offer its “Bible Adventures at Holywood Studios” Vacation Bible School program from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The program will use the Bible as its script to film God’s story, according to the Rev. Lisa D. Munroe, director of Christian education.
