Photobit Names Parkinson CEO

* Photobit Corp. said board member Joe Parkinson has become chief executive and president of the 5-year-old Pasadena firm, which creates image sensors small enough to fit on silicon chips. Parkinson is a co-founder and former president of memory chip giant Micron Technology and a co-founder of Sematech, an industry consortium. Parkinson succeeds Photobit founder Sabrina Kemeny, who will become chairman.

* Unocal Corp. of El Segundo hired Terry Dallas, the former treasurer of Atlantic Richfield Co., as chief financial officer. He succeeds Executive Vice President Timothy Ling, who will focus on North American oil and gas production. Los Angeles-based Arco was was purchased by BP Amoco in April.

* Veteran movie executive and film producer Mike Medavoy was named as a director of animation studio Film Roman.
