Garden Grove Disposal has donated $25,000 to Acacia Adult Day Services for the 8,600-square-foot expansion under construction.

About $390,000 is still needed to pay for the $3-million project, which will allow the nonprofit organization to double the number of frail elderly and disabled adults it serves.

The expansion, scheduled for completion in spring 2001, includes a large activity room, private therapy and nursing areas, showers and laundry facilities. “Acacia meets a direct and pressing need that affects everyone who has an aging family member at home but must work to support the family,” said Tom Vogt, chief executive of Garden Grove Disposal.
