PacketVideo Announces Trials

PacketVideo Corp. said Walt Disney Co. and Sony Pictures Entertainment are among 35 media companies that have agreed to participate in trials of PacketVideo’s wireless video-delivery technology. The San Diego company is developing technology that enables video to be delivered via cellular telephone networks to personal digital assistants made by Casio Computer Co. and other companies. Executives said the partnerships will enable cellular companies testing PacketVideo technology to deliver news, weather, traffic, entertainment and other services.
