WWII Memorial

* It is hard to justify construction of the planned National World War II Memorial in the middle of the National Mall. It will obstruct views, create even more overcrowding in an area overwhelmed with monuments and museums and will forever alter what is already an enduring national symbol.

I find it hard to believe that another, more suitable site cannot be found in Washington, with its desperate need for economic development. Indeed, why does this memorial belong only in Washington? Dozens of cities across the nation made enormous contributions to the war effort and would benefit from hosting such a memorial.
