Schullers Will Renew Their Wedding Vows

The Rev. and Mrs. Robert H. Schuller will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and renew their vows with their son Robert A. Schuller officiating at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday at the Crystal Cathedral.

The choir will sing “Because,” which the Schullers featured at their wedding. After each service, wedding cake, lemonade and coffee will be served.

Arvella Schuller, wife of the Crystal Cathedral founder, chalked up the success of their marriage to daily prayer together, plus love and acceptance.

“We try to compliment each other daily,” she said through a church spokesperson. “My husband has complimented me almost every day, and that’s been wonderful. If we’ve had a quarrel, we’ve always settled it before we went to bed, and that was usually in prayer.”

On Sunday, the Rev. Schuller will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of his ordination as a minister in the Reformed Church in America.
