Democrats Prepare for Spring Fling

An afternoon of food, music and politics awaits Ventura County Democrats at their second annual Spring Fling from noon to 3 p.m. today at the Rosenmund Ranch in Oxnard.

The County Committee of Democrats will also honor several party members who helped fellow members get elected. Congressional candidate Michael Case will be the featured speaker, along with state Senate candidate Daniel Gonzalez and state Assembly candidate Roz McGrath.

“There will be an array of elected officials countywide,” party Chairman Hank Lacayo said. “No. 1, it serves the purpose of bringing the party together, and No. 2, it helps us in raising funds for voter education and voter registration efforts.”

The Rosenmund Ranch is at 2705 E. Pleasant Valley Road. in Oxnard. Admission is $25 per person or $40 for two. Proceeds will go to voter registration and campaign headquarters’ expenses.
