LA HABRA
The Summer Recreation Program begins today at six locations throughout the city, free to children of all ages.
Running through Aug. 18, recreation programs start up at Corona, Descanso, Montwood, Oeste parks and the newly added Los Lomas Park, as well as at Macy Elementary School.
Each site has a recreation director and at least one aide to supervise unattended children between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, they added.
In addition to arts and crafts and various board games, the program will feature new twists on established sports like baseball or football, said David DeLeon, the city’s recreation manager. Information: (562) 905-9708.
