Nashville Lions

I read Robert Hilburn’s article about Shelby Lynne with great interest (“Far From a Country Club Type,” Feb. 13). I was especially interested in his comments about Nashville and “strong-willed mavericks,” and his including Mickey Newbury as one of “a whole layer of artists . . . who fell through the cracks.”

I have been a fan of Mickey Newbury for over 25 years, and at one time despaired of ever finding CD copies of his classic albums. The very first thing I ever searched for on the Internet was “Mickey Newbury,” and to my delight I found not only an outlet for his music, both old and new, but a site with a “family” of dedicated fans from all over the world.
