Rocker Won’t Learn Anything From This

It is a shame that John Rocker received a slap on the wrist, which basically did nothing to improve Rocker’s prejudicial views. Besides a longer suspension without pay, Rocker should have received time doing community service in an AIDS hospice, volunteer work with the poor, and attend rigorous meetings involving leaders of various ethnic groups in New York.

John Rocker needs to see that different lifestyles and viewpoints exist outside of Atlanta.

Note to Bud Selig: The next time you need to discipline one of baseball’s bad boys, please check with the arbitrator before you hand down your sentence and find out what penalty he’ll allow, if any. You will prevent embarrassment to yourself and anger to baseball fans.
