Break From Rain Expected to Continue as County Heats Up

Sunny, warm weather that filled Ventura County on Saturday and prompted people to head in droves to area beaches and parks will continue today, according to the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

High temperatures in the valleys were forecast for the low 80s and along the coast the highs could reach the low 70s, federal weather specialist Stuart Seto said.

“It’s really nice and warm,” Seto said. “There’s an offshore breeze holding back the sea breeze and that’s why it’s warming up quite a bit.”

Seto said it should be breezy today with winds between 15 and 25 mph. Despite several weeks of rain and minor flooding, no advisories were issued Saturday night for the county.

Monday’s weather is also expected to be sunny, Seto said.

It was 83 in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, 82 in Simi Valley and 81 in Ojai. It was 73 in Oxnard and 72 in Ventura.
