Placentia Disposal and the city will give away free compost to residents from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at El Dorado High School, 1651 N. Valencia Ave.

The annual Compost Giveaway, now in its fifth year, was set up to thank residents for their participation in the city’s yard waste recycling program.

Residents must bring their own containers or buckets to receive the loose compost. No bags will be filled. Each resident is entitled to receive up to 60 gallons of material.
