ColorMax Buys Patents for X-Chrom Lens

ColorMax Technologies Inc., a Tustin maker of lenses to treat colorblindness, said Monday it acquired the patents, trademarks, rights and technology for the X-Chrom Lens for colorblindness.

ColorMax said it plans to produce new soft contact lenses that would combine ColorMax’s technology with the newly acquired patents and market them under the X-Chrom trademark. X-Chrom introduced the first commercially available contact lenses for colorblindness in 1971, ColorMax said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
