Sonance Appoints Global Sales Director
Ed Brown has been named director of sales, global market for Sonance in San Clemente. He was formerly vice president of sales and marketing for Recoton Home Audio in Lake Mary, Fla. Before that, Brown was vice president of sales at the Infinity Systems division of Harman International Inc. in Northridge.
* Elizabeth A. Fetter has joined the board of directors of Datum Inc. in Irvine. She is chief executive of NorthPoint Communications in San Francisco. Fetter succeeds Ted Money, who will not be standing for reelection at the next shareholders meeting.
* David Morrison has been appointed chief financial officer and senior vice president of strategic planning at SmartShip.com in Irvine. He was formerly chief financial officer of Consolidated Freightways Corp.
* William Schmidt is the new chief financial officer of eFront Media Inc. in Irvine. Schmidt has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial industry with companies such as US Steel, Cigna Investments and Pacific Life Insurance.
* Kevin S. Palatnik has joined ZLand.com in Aliso Viejo as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Joan Nagelkirk, the previous chief financial officer, has been named president of North American operations. Palatnik was formerly with Cadence Design Systems Inc., most recently as vice president and general manager of the education services business unit. In addition, Wolfgang Hanrieder was named to the board of directors. He is a partner at Star Ventures Management in Munich, Germany.
