After months of sniping and failed negotiations, a longstanding battle among homeowners over use of the community swimming pool will move from the boardroom to the courtroom today.

The controversy began in June, when Turtle Rock resident Alisa Ross sued the Turtle Rock Park and Recreation Assn., alleging that the community’s youth swim team monopolizes pool time. The suit also seeks to protect homeowners if one of the young competitors is injured.

The team’s supporters have denied that it dominates the pool and argue that it was seldom used before the team started swimming there. The association maintains adequate insurance and the sports serve a greater good for the children of the community, they said.

The case is set to be heard at 1:30 p.m. in Orange County Superior Court, Department 68, 700 Civic Center Drive.
