Home Depot Leases Mira Loma Site for West Coast Distribution Center

Home Depot, the home improvement and building supply chain, signed a five-year lease valued at $13.25 million for a West Coast import distribution facility that will be built in Mira Loma.

The firm initially will occupy 825,000 square feet of space but could expand to as much as 1.2 million square feet, according to Cushman & Wakefield brokers Terry Evans and Scott Evans, who represented the retailer.

“Our client chose this site . . . after a very extensive search which encompassed the entire Southern California region,” Scott Evans said.

The distribution center will be at the southwest corner of Universe and Venture drives in Mira Loma.

Home Depot’s facility is one of several giant distribution and warehouse facilities under construction in the Inland Empire. About 1.7 million square feet of industrial space is under construction and an additional 2.7 million square feet of space is planned, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Four of the buildings under construction exceed 400,000 square feet.

Home Depot has also purchased 42 acres of Inglewood’s Hollywood Park racetrack property for the development of a previously announced shopping center. In addition to a Home Depot outlet, the development at Century Boulevard and 11th Avenue will include a Target discount store and several small retailers.
