Tekelec Attributes Net Loss to Restructuring Charge

Tekelec in Calabasas reported a net loss for the first quarter ended March 31 of $1.8 million compared to net income of $492,000 for the same period last year. Revenues rose to $60.1 million from $32.7 million. The decrease in income was in part due to a restructuring charge of $1.8 million in the first quarter the company said.

Tekelec supplies signaling and control systems and designs network switching and diagnostic solutions for the integration of wire and wireless communication systems.
