Unilab Net Drops in 1st Quarter, but Revenues Rise

Unilab Corp. in Tarzana reported net income for the first quarter ended March 31 dropped to $1.5 million, compared with $6.2 million for the same period last year. Revenues increased 24.7% to $79.3 million from $63.6 million. The decrease in income was due in part to increased interest expense and an additional tax provision, the company said.
Unilab provides clinical laboratory testing services throughout California.
