The new owner of a Bastanchury Road development is expected to ask to build more houses than originally approved, while working to address problems with grading at the south side of the project.

Pulte Home Corp. said it will ask the Planning Commission next month for permission to build 276 homes north of Bastanchury Road, on 169 acres designated in 1991 for one-acre lots. The change, if approved, would result in lots of about one-third of an acre in size.

The Pulte Homes project, straddling Bastanchury Avenue near Ohio Street, is being built in two phases. The first, south of Bastanchury Avenue, is now being graded for 59 one-acre lots.
