The Clark County district attorney in Las Vegas said Wednesday there is insufficient evidence to file sexual assault charges against baseball player Sean Thomas of El Camino Real High.

Thomas, 18, was arrested April 22 after a 14-year-old girl accused him of sexual assault at the Treasure Island Hotel. He was in Las Vegas playing for El Camino Real in the Bishop Gorman tournament.

Thomas, the Conquistadores’ starting second baseman, was suspended from the team pending the outcome of the investigation.

Bob Marks, assistant principal at El Camino Real, said Thomas has been cleared to rejoin the team. He missed three West Valley League games.

“It’s been resolved, it’s been concluded and I never want to go through another nightmare like this,” said Thomas’ father, Bruce. “I’m grateful my family has been restored. My faith in the justice system is strengthened. The bottom line is I love my son and I appreciate all the people who have been supportive.”
