Quackenbush
Re “Grants Seen as Political Boost for Quackenbush,” May 3: White guilt sprinkled generously with hubris and political greed seem to be the main ingredients in Chuck Quackenbush’s recipe for being our insurance commissioner. I, for one, don’t like the taste of corruption which he has so generously added to his messy concoction.
The time is ripe to hire a new “chef” whose repertoire of recipes includes such healthful ingredients as: integrity, concern for all Californians, honesty, clear understanding of his constitutional role as insurance commissioner and a precise knowledge of what constitutes bribery and conflict of interest in the stew where powerful insurance companies and the public good are mixed together.
