The Dana Point Youth Board has established short- and long-term goals and created subcommittees to work on them. Some of the goals include improving the relationship between police and teenagers, creating a teen center and skateboard park, alleviating parking problems at Dana Hills High School and establishing programs for teens to volunteer for charitable organizations in Dana Point.
“There is a lot of work to do, and it may take them a long time,” said Councilman Harold R. Kaufman, who serves as a City Council liaison on the youth board. “To tackle a goal like the teen center may take several years, but they recognize that.”
