Chapman’s School of Education Gets Full Accreditation
Chapman University’s School of Education has received a full accreditation from the state for its Teacher Credential Program.
Only 40% of schools receive the full credential. The others receive an accreditation that requires program changes.
The School of Education at the Orange university has been accredited before, but this is the first time under a new state system implemented four years ago.
The accreditation covers administrative, multiple subject, pupil personnel services, single subject and special education credentials. A credential is required for a professional position at a public school in California. Most programs take 1 1/2 years to complete.
About 2,000 teachers, administrators, school psychologists and counselors receive credentials from Chapman annually.
