*** DJ Maj, “Wax Museum--The Mix Tape,” Gotee. Christian hip-hop has often been marginalized by the genre’s cognoscenti, but this 15-cut collection of artists from around the country assembled by the Nashville-based Maj clearly demonstrates that Christians can concoct quality rap songs. Although a consideration of God is included in a number of cuts, most of the acts don’t dwell on their religious affiliation, which should make the album enjoyable for listeners regardless of their religious beliefs. Los Angeles’ 4th Avenue Jones and Nashville’s Grits deliver the album’s stronger selections.
