LAKE FOREST
The Planning and Parks and Recreation commissions have praised a proposal to guide a 20-year redevelopment of the El Toro Road commercial corridor stretching from the Santa Ana Freeway to Jeronimo Road. City leaders expect the plan will direct future public and private projects and help turn it into a cultural and economic center. Proposals include adding traffic lanes and eliminating several shopping center entrances. The plan also calls for the gradual conversion of the industrial neighborhood south of Jeronimo Road into a commercial area.
