The Irvine marketer of soy protein and aloe vera products had a first-quarter net loss of $726,659, or 12 cents a share. That compared with a net loss of $3.8 million, or 71 cents a share, for the same period of 1999, which included a one-time, nonoperating charge of $2.8 million from the settlement of a lawsuit. Sales increased 42% to $3.4 million.
