After suffering through a ratings decline during the regular season and the early part of the playoffs, NBC got good news Monday.

Ratings were up from the same weekend last year. Game 1 of the Western Conference finals last season got a 5.9 overnight rating. The 6.2 for Saturday’s game represents a 5% increase.

Sunday’s New York-Miami game got an overnight national rating of 8.7, a 16% increase over the 7.5 for Game 1 of the Indiana-New York series last season. Game 7 of the first-round series between New York and Miami last year drew a 7.0 rating.
