Accountability

Share

* As an LAUSD teacher, I would consider being accountable (in terms of salary) for my students’ Stanford 9 test scores when every company has to play by the same set of rules we do, namely:

1) Your company has to hire everyone who shows up at the door, no matter what his/her skill level.

2) You may not fire them. Their lack of preparedness, unprofessional attitude, absenteeism, poor performance, inappropriate workplace outbursts, tardiness, unethical and defiant behavior, as well as their nonperformance of duties, are not reasons to be let go.

3) For those who are unable to do the job, you’re responsible for hiring additional people to help them.

Oh, yes, the boss does not get a raise until these employees measurably improve.
