The Leisure World Laguna Woods Foundation will be recognized as Program of the Year with the Senior Achievement and General Excellence Award on Wednesday.

The foundation, founded by residents and staff of Leisure World three years ago, provides temporary support services for residents in the community. Services include picking up medications, help with bills and covering costs for the Meals on Wheels program. More than 1,000 residents have donated to the foundation.

The Seniors Housing Council will host an award banquet for the foundation at the Turnip Rose restaurant, 3 Imperial Promenade, Santa Ana. Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $55 through the housing council by calling (714) 960-2723.
