* Don Goodman has been named president of Walt Disney Imagineering, a division of Walt Disney Co. that creates rides for its theme parks and designs hotels and cruise ships. Goodman, 44, has been serving as the division’s executive vice president. He reports to Paul Pressler, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.

* Culver City-based Sizzler International Inc., the operator and franchiser of Sizzler, KFC and Oscar’s restaurants, said fiscal second-quarter profit fell 85%, partly because of an E. coli bacteria outbreak. Net income fell to $310,000, or 1 cent a share, from $2.1 million, or 7 cents, a year earlier. Revenue fell 1.1% to $54.6 million. An outbreak of more than 50 cases of E.coli traced to two Milwaukee-area Sizzler franchises this summer hurt sales nationwide. A 3-year-old girl died of complications from the illness.

* Edison International’s Southern California Edison, the state’s No. 2 electric utility, is asking a federal court to let it charge customers $2.64 billion for losses from open-market power purchases this year. The loss is a result of state requirements that the utility buy all its power through the California Power Exchange and the California Independent System Operator, the utility said. PG&E; Corp.’s Pacific Gas & Electric filed a similar claim last week.
