Buy.com Inc. Discontinues Australian Operations

Online retailer Buy.com Inc. said Monday it has discontinued its Australian operations, effective immediately, because of a lack of overseas funding and a push to make its domestic business profitable.

The Aliso Viejo company said in a news release that although its Web site in Australia is being shut down, it will honor and fulfill all customer orders as soon as possible.

Buy.com also noted that discontinuing operations does not preclude it from reentering the market when the climate is more favorable.
