PTA Starts Fund for Anaheim Traffic Victim
The PTA at Anaheim’s Abraham Lincoln Elementary School has started a fund for the family of Mara Sanchez, a Lincoln third-grader who was struck and killed by a truck Saturday.
The fund will help Mara’s family pay funeral and other expenses, school officials said.
Mara, 7, was struck when she and a friend stepped from behind an ice cream truck parked in front of Mara’s house on East Date Street. Authorities said the 18-year-old driver could not see the children.
Donations may be sent to Lincoln School PTA, 1413 E. Broadway, Anaheim, Calif. 92805. Information: (714) 517-9214.
