U.S.-Based Group Blamed in Attacks
A U.S.-based group is behind a deadly “terrorist” assault on Cambodian government offices in Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Hun Sen said, urging the U.S. to arrest its leader. At least seven people were killed and 12 injured in attacks Friday on government offices and on a military barracks near the capital. Hun Sen did not identify the suspected ringleader. Earlier, Phnom Penh Gov. Chea Sophara said the government had documents proving that Chhun Yasith, leader of the California-registered Cambodian Freedom Fighters, was behind the attacks.
