Military Claims Capture of Camp

Military troops have captured a major Muslim rebel camp in the southern Philippines after several days of fighting, officials said. At least 10 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front were killed in the fighting and bombardment of Camp Bushra in Lanao del Sur province on Mindanao island, the military said. Rebels disputed that report and said the military had suffered at least 22 casualties. The claims could not be independently verified. The MILF is the larger of two groups fighting for an independent Islamic state in the southern Philippines.
