Online customer support firm PeopleSupport said it will lay off the bulk of its 200 employees in Los Angeles and expand its operations in St. Louis and the Philippine capital, Manila. Some of the approximately 120 affected workers have been offered jobs in St. Louis, said spokeswoman Amy Berkus. The corporate staff will remain in its Westwood headquarters. The changes are part of a strategy to conserve its cash until 2002, when the company expects to become profitable. PeopleSupport, which raised $50 million in venture capital this spring, has about 150 employees in St. Louis and Manila.
