From Times Wire Reports

About 200 Korean War veterans burned an effigy of North Korean leader Kim Jong Il as their government shipped food to its impoverished communist neighbor despite domestic criticism. The veterans, in their 60s and 70s, were protesting Kim’s expected visit to South Korea next spring. South Korean President Kim Dae Jung visited the North in June for the first-ever summit with the North’s leader. The veterans argued that Kim Jong Il should not be allowed to visit Seoul unless he apologizes for terrorist acts against South Korea.
