* Season Opener--Glendale Symphony Orchestra opens its 77th season Friday at 8 p.m. at the Alex Theatre. The program will include Bach’s “Brandenburg” Concerto No. 2; Mozart’s 36th Symphony, the “Linz” Overture to “Don Giovanni” and Beethoven’s First Symphony, Opus 21. Sidney Weiss will conduct. * Fall Fest--Rock icon Peter Frampton headlines the Palmdale Fall Festival on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at McAdam Park. After years of almost continuous touring, Frampton struck gold when his live album, “Frampton Comes Alive,” sold more than 6 million copies in 1976. Singer Toby Keith, who will be the top act at the festival on Sunday at 5 p.m., has scored six No. 1 hits on the country music charts. * Reptile Revue--Southwestern Herpetologists Society’s 19th annual Live Reptile and Amphibian Exhibit will be held this weekend at North Hollywood Recreation Center. Featured: snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, toads and salamanders from around the world. Hundreds of reptiles and amphibians will be on display, including snakes more than 14 feet long. Educational exhibits on conservation, endangered species and the ecosystem also will be featured. Hours: Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The center is at 11430 Chandler Blvd. $2-$5. * Herman Tribute--”Jerry’s Girls,” a musical tribute to Broadway composer Jerry Herman, comes to Cal State Northridge on Sunday. This musical revue features the best songs for women from Herman-written shows, including “Hello Dolly,” “Mame,” “Milk and Honey” and “La Cage aux Folles.” The production stars John Bisom, Jennifer Gordon, Randy Hills, Tracy Lore and Diane Vincent.
